What's in macOS Tahoe 26.7

Apple released macOS Tahoe 26.7 (build 25G229) on September 14, 2026, the same day as macOS 27 Golden Gate. It has no new features; it carries over a hundred security fixes, largely the same ones included in Golden Gate.

It's the latest macOS version for Intel Macs, which can't run macOS 27, and for Apple Silicon owners who aren't ready to upgrade yet. macOS Sequoia 15.8 shipped the same day for Macs still on Sequoia.

Tahoe Updates Since 26.6

• macOS Tahoe 26.6.1 (25G76, August 6, 2026) — fixed a flaw that could let an attacker authenticate to Screen Sharing without valid credentials.
• macOS Tahoe 26.6.2 (25G83, August 17, 2026) — patched nearly 30 vulnerabilities, most of them in WebKit, plus kernel and ImageIO bugs.
• macOS Tahoe 26.7 (25G229, September 14, 2026) — over a hundred security fixes shipped alongside macOS 27.

Tahoe 26.7 or macOS 27?

In System Settings → General → Software Update, Apple Silicon Macs now see both. The Upgrade Now button installs macOS 27 Golden Gate; the Tahoe 26.7 entry keeps you on Tahoe. Intel Macs only see Tahoe 26.7.

• Intel Mac: install 26.7. Tahoe is the last version your Mac can run; Apple typically supports the final release with security updates for about two more years.
• Apple Silicon, waiting on app compatibility: install 26.7 now and upgrade to macOS 27 later.
