macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 Released to Fix M5 MacBook Wi-Fi Issue

By macOSUpdate Team

Apple has released macOS Tahoe 26.4.1 (build 25E253), a small targeted update aimed at the new M5 MacBooks. It fixes a Wi-Fi bug that was causing connection failures on enterprise networks.

What the Update Fixes

The release notes describe a single fix: the M5 MacBook Air and M5 Pro / M5 Max MacBook Pro could fail to join 802.1X Wi-Fi networks when a content filter extension was active. Both conditions had to be true to trigger the bug, which made it especially painful for users on university and corporate networks that use 802.1X authentication alongside MDM-pushed content filters.

Should You Install It?

If you have an M5 MacBook, install it now. If you are on any other Mac running 26.4, the update is optional — it does not introduce new features or new security content beyond what shipped in 26.4. Apple has not published any CVE entries for 26.4.1.

How to Install

  1. Back up your Mac with Time Machine or your preferred tool
  2. Open System Settings → General → Software Update
  3. Click Update Now when 26.4.1 appears
  4. Allow your Mac to restart

What's Next

Apple is currently testing macOS Tahoe 26.5 with developers, with the fourth beta seeded on April 27, 2026. The public release is expected in late May, ahead of WWDC 2026 (June 8–12), where Apple will unveil macOS 27.
